Theme and Aims
Integrative Metabolomics and Microbiome Science for Translational Health Insights
At the heart of this conference lies the central theme of Integration: understanding human health and disease through the lens of microbiome composition and functional metabolomics, interpreted within a systems biology framework.
The event aims to:
- Unpack the complex interplay between microbiome structure and function across diverse body sites (gut, oral, skin).
- Illuminate the dynamic interactions between host genetics, microbiota, and metabolome that shape health states and disease trajectories.
- Identify metabolic signatures that bridge nutrition, disease development, and therapeutic outcomes.
- Highlight the vital role of computational modeling, artificial intelligence, and systems-level analyses in translating omics data into actionable biological insights.
- Promote translational science and address national capability building, with a special focus on DAE-supported projects.
Short Description
Modern biomedical science is rapidly evolving, with omics technologies—such as metabolomics and microbiome sequencing—uncovering unprecedented detail about the molecular basis of health and disease. Yet, turning these multi-layered, data-rich discoveries into clinical reality and public health benefits remains a significant challenge. This conference brings together pioneers and rising stars who are not only advancing the science of omics integration but also building the essential bridges from data to interpretation, and from laboratories to clinics.
The uniqueness of this event lies in:
- Its holistic approach combining multiple omics streams (microbiome, metabolome, and computational biology) under one platform.
- Emphasizing Indian and global perspectives through partnerships and showcasing national flagship translational projects.
- Providing interactive sessions where policymakers, technologists, and researchers converge to discuss the future of health analytics in India.
- The timing is particularly crucial, given the increasing recognition of personalized and precision medicine, the global pandemic’s emphasis on microbial and metabolic health, and major investments in omics infrastructure.
Goal Statement
The foremost goal of this conference is to bridge the gap between data-driven omics research and meaningful biological interpretation, catalyzing a new era of translational health science. By bringing together leaders in the field, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue, and highlighting DAE-supported translational programs, the event aspires to:
- Foster the translation of multi-omics data into biomarkers, diagnostics, and therapeutic targets for prevalent and emerging health challenges.
- Nurture a vibrant network of Indian and international researchers equipped to drive innovation in systems health.
- Promote national self-reliance and global leadership in integrative health research by leveraging the unique collaborations and infrastructure enabled through DAE and allied agencies.
- This conference stands as a launchpad for scientific exchange and national capacity building, setting the stage for impactful discoveries at the interface of metabolomics and microbiome science.
