IISM 2018

The Inter IISER Sports Meet (abbreviated and better known as IISM) is the premier multi-sport event of the national institutes dedicated to basic sciences and research. Held annually in the month of December, IISM has come a long way since its inception in 2012, hosted by IISER Kolkata. Then exclusive to the five founding IISERs, the number of participants has only increased since. With the newly established IISERs (Tirupati and Berhampur); as well as NISER, CEBS, and IISc joining the fray, IISM has certainly garnered a presence that transcends its name!

An event of its stature must represent the diverse sporting talent among its thousand odd participants. Accordingly, this time the tournaments spans twelve broad sporting categories (Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Chess, Cricket, Football, Kabaddi, Kho Kho, Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis, Carrom and Volleyball) with carrom being the latest addition. Over years, IISM has been the symbol of sportsmanship where athletes from premium research institutes strive for excellence and carve a niche of brotherhood.

This December 2018, we as a part of NISER Family welcome all participating athletes to the 7th edition of IISM. With the show about to begin, hold your nerves to witness the most awaited sports event of the year!
