Title:

Explicit abc-conjecture and its recent applications

Abstract:The well-known abc- conjecture due to Oesterle and Masser in 1985is not explicit. Thus it may not solve an equation completely; it may giveonly bounds for the number of solutions or bounds for the magnitude ofsolutons. With this in mind, Baker in 2004 formulated an explicit versionof abc-conjecture. I shall speak on this conjecture and point out some ofits recent applicaions.
